Tunisia – Observers: Collective Resignations of Ennahda Shapes the Final End of the Movement

Political analysts said: “that the decision of collective resignation of more than 100 officials from the Tunisian Ennahda movement shapes the end of the movement in its current form and the beginning of a new era for political Islam in Tunisia, after they gave up trying to reform within the movement”.

Today, Saturday September 25th, 113 leaders of the Tunisian “Ennahda” movement announced their resignation from the movement, including Parliament members, former members of the Constituent Assembly, members of the Shura Council and other officials.

Resigned members said that the main reason behind their collective resignation is the failure to reform the party from within and the recognition that the current leadership bears full responsibility for the movement’s estrangement nationally.
