Iraq – Tearing up candidates banners as the parliamentary elections approach
With the approaching date of October 10th, the practice of tearing up posters and propaganda pictures of candidates for the parliamentary elections has grown in the streets of the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, significantly, by anonymous people. Opinions differed about the causes of the phenomenon’s spread with some believing that what is happening is a natural reaction by the citizen as a result of the political class and parliaments’ failure to provide service and enact laws that address the concerns of the Iraqi people over eighteen years, while others pointed out that this conflicts between the political forces competing for seats in parliament are behind this work.
