Syria – Sport event in Qamishli in support of women’s teams

A unisex sport event held in Qamishli, under the sponsorship of C.A.F for Relief and Development as a part of the second Al-Jazeera House project in various regions of north and east Syria, where women’s teams participated in different sports like football and ping-pong. Event organizers clarified that the event aims to Encouraging women’s sports to enhance the culture of accepting other users, and in support of social cohesiveness among the northern Syrian social elements, and a number of participants in ping pong hoped that women’s sports games would be popular and promoted in the future, in addition to change the social culture of women’s sports. Several women’s teams participated in the football league in the city of Qamishli, and 8 women participated in the ping-pong tournament that was held in the city of Amuda, in line with men’s league.
