Syria – Factories depend on the remnants of destruction to produce new materials
One of the factories in Manbij, northeastern Aleppo governorate, northern Syria, produces plastic pipes, to meet the market need of these materials that are used in the building infrastructure in areas that have been devastated and destroyed by the war. The owners of infrastructure materials factories, including the plastic pipes, manufacture factory, suffer from the lack of raw materials used to manufacture these materials, the most important of which is PVC, which is imported from abroad; however, the frequent closure of the borders hinders the arrival of these materials to the factories. The factory owners depend on the raw material by relying on PVC that is obtained from destroyed doors and windows, and re-refining and renewing it to meet their need for this material.
