Syria – Dialogue session for the Syrian Democratic Council on intellectuals engagement in the Syrian solution
The Syrian Democratic Council (SDC), held a session in Qamishli for the intellectuals from northern and eastern Syria, entitled (The Intellectual and the Prospects for a Solution in Syria), to discuss finding a political solution to the Syrian crisis, and the challenges and difficulties the Kurdish “self-management” encounter to fill the gaps between them and their people. The attendees expressed a variety of opinions; however, their main concern was the administration’s unwillingness to apply these opinions or their failure to take them into account to bridge the gap that, in their perspective, exists between the intellectuals and the “self-management”. This session with intellectuals is the first of its kind in northern and eastern Syria, intending to involve them in finding a solution to the country’s 11-year-long crisis as well as clarifying the role of the intellectual in the coming phases and what is required of them to solve the Syrian crisis.
