Mongolia – The stray dogs, an issue that concerns the authorities in Ulaanbaatar
Every year, Mongolia spends more than 1 billion MNT on the extermination of stray dogs and cats to protect people from infectious diseases if one of them is bitten by these animals, but to no avail. To overcome this problem, the “Lucky Paws ” NGO took on the responsibility of finding new owners for abandoned animals, and in 2017, the city government of Ulaanbaatar began performing surgery to stop the breeding of dogs and cats in the Ger areas, but these measures failed to get rid of the danger of stray dogs and cats, thus the organization has initiated a bill to hold pet owners accountable, indicating that it is in the process of drafting a law in this regard.
