Turkey – In anticipation of the Istanbul earthquake… the city’s municipality raises the pace of demolishing old buildings
The Istanbul municipality and the relevant ministries in Turkey have recently increased the pace of demolishing old buildings in several areas, on top of which is the Al-Fatih area, where the largest number of buildings that are more than 50 years old. Istanbul is threatened by a major earthquake that could happen at any moment during the next ten years due to the city’s occurrence on the continental earthquake line, and not a year passes without the largest city in Turkey experiencing an earthquake or a light earthquake of between 3 and 5 degrees.
