Iraq – “Kiow” is a traditional shoe from the Kurdish folklore that is witnessing a great demand on the holidays
Kiow, or “Kalash” in Kurdish, is an old traditional folk shoe that often accompanies the Kurdish men’s fashion that wears it. This traditional shoe is made of white cotton, colored threads and cowhide. It takes two days to produce this pair of shoes, but the strange thing about “kiow” is that these two pairs of shoes are exactly the same and they have straight ends, there is no difference in the right or left foot.
