Mongolia – Snows of June, rare phenomenon in Ulaanbaatar
The Mongolian capital, Ulaanbaatar, and other areas of Mongolia witnessed heavy snowfall for the first of its kind in June, followed by dust and snowstorms. Bad weather, which is considered rare at this time of year, especially in rural areas, slowed the harvest season and resulted in the lack of wheat crops. Meanwhile, residents burn coal to heat their homes.
