Iraq – Baghdad Kite Festival to launch

39

Young volunteers took part in organizing the Kite Festival at Abu Nawas Gardens in the heart of Baghdad for the 4th year, supported by the European Union and civil society organizations. The festival, which hosts different age groups, aims to spread the culture of peaceful coexistence among the components of society and to convey a message to the world that Iraq is not the worst place to live as it was ranked, but rather there are makers of life and hope despite the current circumstances. The festival included Arab and foreign musical performances to highlight and support young talents, in addition to flying colorful kites in the air.
