Iraq – “Majko”, a historical Café in Erbil
“Majko” Café is one of Erbil’s historical places in the ancient castle area, according to the cafes’ visitors it was established in the 1940s, and what distinguishes it is the preservation of its old original style, despite the restoration work that it has seen since its establishment to this day. A café is a meeting place for thinkers, intellectuals, artists and singers, and Kurdish song lovers. It hosts several literary and artistic activities and events throughout the week, in addition to the visitors’ enjoyment of reading in the library of the café.
