Syria – The first day of Eid ul-Fitr in Qamishli

Children started to visit neighbors and nearby hoods in the early morning to collect the sweets celebrating the first day of Eid ul-Fitr, relatives and neighbors exchange visits to wish each other on the Eid that considerably differs from the previous ones before the outbreak of the Syrian crisis. Families attempt to celebrate these holidays in the same manner as before, yet the conditions of life have changed, and they have to adhere to it, like the spike of the Corona pandemic which is the main reason for imposing social distancing, and the immigration that the region has been subjected to since the commencement of the Syrian crisis.
