Syria – 400 children attend school in tents in the countryside of Raqqa after ISIS displaced them

Raqqa and its countryside are filled with squatter camps of displaced people who live there because of the war of ISIS on their cities and towns, and they are unable to return to their homes because of the destruction and devastation caused by the war. The co-chair of the Social matters and Labor Committee in the Raqqa Civil Council, Abdul Salam Hamsurk stated that substantial numbers of children have been denied access to schools and education and currently, a school was opened consisting of tents, in the form of classrooms, to receive children for education. According to the school’s teachers, the school includes more than 400 children, who were working in various fields to support their families who suffer harsh financial circumstances after the war.
