Syria: Poultry Sector in Al-Hasakah is On the Brink of Collapsing While the Autonomous Administration is Standing Idly

The disastrous economic crisis in Syria has had its toll on the livestock sector, resulting in high poultry mortality due to the lack of vaccines and medications. Owners of poultry farms believe that because the Syrian pound has tumbled to a new low against the Dollar, they failed to cope.  The co-chair of the Livestock Foundation, Roken Shekhmous illustrated that the crippled economic status quo is an unbridgeable challenge, as securing vaccines is almost impossible given their high prices, not to mention that concerned authorities don’t supply the region with adequate poultry necessities
