Mongolia- Chinese investments to grow in Mongolia
China is considered one of the top investors in Mongolia as the number of its investments hit 4.3 billion USD between 1990 and 2017. Today there are above 10 thousand Chinese investment companies in Mongolia, especially in industries of minerals, e-shops, agriculture, mining, and construction where Chinese comprises around 21% of foreign direct investment registered in Mongolia and more than 50 percent of invested enterprises. Mongolian building materials dealers have stated that they prefer to deal and purchase from Chinese companies because their prices are cheaper than Mongolian companies, which contributed to local companies losing their customers.
