Iraq: Cole Khanum Restaurant for Folklore Cuisine Run by Only Women

A restaurant business isn’t something out of ordinary, but when it is inclusively run by women, it becomes a milestone. Skilled women chefs transformed their home cooking experience into a real-life job. “Cole Khanum” restaurant staffs are only women. Each of which has a certain task; some cook and prepare food in the kitchen that visitors can easily see. The owner of the restaurant Hawar Shawkat illustrated that she thought of the restaurant a long time ago but wasn’t able to open it for financial hardships. She then decided to collect money along with 8 other women. The project, she illustrated is of two sections; serving the restaurant visitors and preparing food for events
