Jordan: The soccer field attracts women in Jordan despite social constraints
Football for females is expanding in Jordan despite social constraints. Jordanian women today are replacing their girly heels with snickers, particularly those with a passion for balls, they kicked society’s norms with their cleats. Leen al Btoush at the age of eight, would’ve been considered a tomboy back when her little self was the only girl in her hood, kicking and yelling at the boys in her childhood football field. Today, she’s a Jordanian icon. Leen at seventeen, is preparing herself to be the face of Jordan’s courage and change, as she is going to compete in the FIFA Under 17 Women’s World Cup Championship on September 30th through October 21st.
