Iraq- Al-Kazimi’s Advisor: Finance is obliged to offer allocations to the Electoral Commission
Baghdad – Iraq 28/12/2020
The Advisor to the Prime Minister for Elections Affairs, Abdul-Hussein Al-Hindawi, stated that the Iraqi Prime Minister, Mustafa Al-Kazemi, ordered the Ministry of Finance to offer financial allocations to the Electoral Commission, especially after Al-Kazemi has shown his willingness to hold early elections as soon as possible. On the other hand, the strategy expert, Mahmoud Al-Hashemi sees that the financial crisis would be a persuasive justification to postpone the early elections scheduled in June 2021. He also believes that most political parties will not support delaying the elections to preserve their interests.
