Iraq – Calls to enact an anti-domestic violence law in Iraq

In an interactive dialogue, in Baghdad, several Civil Society Organizations have reiterated their demands to enact an anti-domestic law. They urged the need to speed up the enactment of the law in coordination with the government and human rights organizations and to work on lessening domestic violence, especially in the coronavirus pandemic. The Supreme Judicial Council has stated that there are around 17 thousand cases were recorded during this year.
