Iraq – “Women of Baghdad” demand fair and effective participation in all domains of life

Women of Baghdad Association held a conference entitled” The demands and needs of women in Iraq” promoting women’s participation in leadership and decision making, supported by Norwegian People’s Aid. The conference recalled the big gap between women and men in political participation in the legislative, executive, and judicial authority. It also referred to male- domination in giving opinions and voting as well as the effective participation of Iraqi women in protests call for improving services, and eliminating administrative and financial corruption. Conference operators emphasized the importance of women’s health care and reproductive care especially under the outbreak of Covid-19 and the apparent regression of these facilities.
