I have always told soldiers not to be today’s breaking news. It was me who was in today’s headlines. This is how the photojournalist Alaa Al-Eidani portrayed the grueling war he has been through along with security forces. In this war on ISIS, he said his eyes and camera lens made the invisible visible. Out of fear of being on the news headlines, he has advised those soldiers not to endanger their lives on the frontlines, however, he lost his sight during covering these clashes. His new reality was nothing but a motivation to study. A master’s degree with excellent results was gained after a burdensome journey in adjusting to the new reality.
