Iraq- Child labor phenomenon among Displaced Children Is Rampant

Iraq is lately witnessing an unprecedented rise in child labor, especially among displaced children- ageing between 15 to 18 years old, selling plastic bags in street markets in Erbil- Kurdistan. Waed is a displaced child who was forced to work to support his family and put food on their table as living conditions are unbearable.  The humanitarian organization reiterated the immediate need of taking care of orphans and those with low-income, demanding the government to offer job opportunities and grant them their right of receiving education.
