Iraq – The strategic agreement with the United States of America swings between opponents and supporters

Hussein al-Kanani, a member of the political bureau of the Citizen’s Bloc, explained that the current circumstances that Iraq is going through are not in the interest of concluding any strategic agreements with the United States of America, especially since there are many previous political decisions from the parliament and the resigned government, which the current government must apply as it is issued by parliament, a member of the Political Bureau of the Citizen Bloc, added that the U.S. government is seeking to conclude this strategic agreement because it believes that the prime minister, Mustafa Al-Kadhimi, is more responsive to it and its policy than any other government that may be formed in new elections, Sabah al-Akili, a member of moreover a member of Hezbollah’s political bureau, said that this agreement is very important for the future of relations between Iraq and the United States if it moves in the right direction, adding that the agreement will not be isolated from foreign interventions in order to preserve the interests of some other countries.
