Jordan – Christian pilgrims flock to Al-Maghtas

On Friday morning, Christian pilgrims flocked to Al-Maghtas (the site of the baptism of Christ) on the eastern bank of the Jordan River in the Dead Sea region to mark the 20th Day of Christian Pilgrimage and practice their religious rites. The Catholic Center for Studies and Media held a press conference during which the director of the center, Father Rifaat Badr, confirmed that Al-Maghtas is the official place of the Christian pilgrimage, which is attended by pilgrims from all over the world, and praised the official, church and media efforts in marketing the site globally.
