Iraq- Tahrir square’s demonstrators celebrate the amendment of the election law

Iraqi Demonstrators in Tahrir Square in central Baghdad expressed their happiness and joy at the parliament’s passage of a new election law that would give more space for independents to run, away from political parties and blocs.The Demonstrators stressed that amending the law, which is one of the most prominent reform demands, would enable people to gain access to decision-making centers and thus change the difficult reality of the country and its people according to them.On Tuesday evening, the Iraqi parliament passed a new electoral law allowing the individual candidacy system to win over those who receive the highest percentage of votes.
