Yemen- Government and Houthis exchange prisoners with local mediation, away from UN

The internationally recognized Yemeni government and the Houthi group exchanged 135 prisoners from both sides in Taiz province, southwest of Yemen, after local mediation, and Military sources in the governorate indicated that the government of President Abdrabbuh Mansur Hadi released 60 prisoners, under the exchange deal, while the Houthi group released 75 prisoners.The government and the Houthi group have previously implemented several exchanges of prisoners and kidnappers through local and tribal mediation, away from the United Nations or the International Committee of the Red Cross.
