Iraq – Al-Sistani’s sermon and demonstrators agree to denounce al-Wathba incident

Al-Tahrir Square in central Baghdad today is witnessing the continuation of demonstrations demanding the amendment of the Iraqi constitution leading to the removal of the current political class completely from the positions it holds in the state, the Friday prayer sermon for the Shiite authority Ayatollah Ali Al-Sistani concorded with the demands of the demonstrators to peacefully protest and stop the killing and kidnapping of demonstrators, especially after the incident of al-Wathba in which unknown persons yesterday hung the body of an armed man who opened fire on the demonstrators, on a traffic pilar in the square.
