Syria – Tel Tamer town rekindles armed clashes in the north-east of the country

Tensions have returned to the syrian-dominated city of Tall Tamr after the Russian and Turkish sides failed to reach an agreement on the departure of the SDF from the city, which has recently witnessed a clash between SDF and Turkish-backed Syrian opposition forces. Tensions returned after the Turkish side rejected Russia’s offer to remove the SDF from Tall Tamr, with the Asayish forces (Kurdish police) in addition to the city’s self-governing institutions, this prompted the opposition to re-engage with Kurdish forces there.
