Iraq – Al-Sadr and Al-Ameri turn against Abdul Mahdi

Sadrist leader Muqtada Al-Sadr and Fatah Alliance chairman Hadi Al-Ameri agreed to withdraw their confidence vote to the Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi in response to the demonstrators’ demands to overthrow the current government, observers said that the agreement would weaken the independent prime minister, since the Sadrist movement and the Fatah alliance are key supporters of Abdul Mahdi, who has relied on political parties and forces to form his current government, Iraq has been witnessing popular demonstrations since the beginning of this month to demand a fight against corruption and improve the living conditions of citizens.
