Iraq – Thousands of demonstrators gather in Basra…Tribes give the government 48 hours to release the detainees

Demonstrations continue in the southern province of Basra, where thousands of residents demonstrated yesterday carrying Iraqi flags and banners with slogans denouncing “Corrupt Parties” in front of the provincial building, demanding the overthrow of the regime and improving their living conditions and providing services and jobs, Security forces in the province arrested dozens of demonstrators on charges of setting fire to government institutions, furthermore, tribes in iraq’s southern province of Basra have given their government 48 hours to release all of the demonstration’s detainees in the province, as a committee of tribal elders and legal officials has been set up to follow up on the cases of arrested demonstrators.
