The decision of the self-administration recently to raise the price of diesel (fuel oil)  in all areas controlled by it in northern and eastern Syria, led to general discontent among citizens, where the price of one liter of fuel oil reached 75 Syrian pounds after the price of a liter was 50 pounds, for its part the self-management justified its decision, by the refusal of local producers and the owners of diesel refineries to produce it due to the high price of the dollar against the Syrian pound, in addition to the inability of the refineries of the self-administration to secure the amount of fuel for the markets, especially with winter on the doors, stressing that the diesel will be distributed to schools and families of martyrs free of charge and the price offered for ovens remains as before.
