Syria – Implementation of the Euphrates River water pumping project for agricultural landa in Deir Ez-zor

Al-Kibar Town Association of Deir Ezzor province in eastern Syria, in cooperation with several organizations, started implementing the project of pumping the Euphrates River water to agricultural lands in the region, and this is After the water was cut for several years. The project is irrigating about 11,000 dunums of agricultural land, and benefiting approximately 30,000 inhabitants of the area. The pumping station consists of 11 pumps, 4 of which work on diesel as an alternative to the continuously interrupted electricity. This water is also used for irrigation and watering livestock, as it is not suitable for drinking, especially in light of the suffering of the people from the lack of clean drinking water.
