Iraq – The proliferation of drugs in Iraqi Kurdistan due to the economic sanction imposed on Iran

The Directorate of Drug Control in Sulaimaniyah province in the Kurdistan region of northern Iraq announced an increase in drug dealing and abuse recently, it attributed the increased popularity of drugs in the Iraqi market to the economic sanction imposed by the U.S. on Iran, which made Iraq a road transit of narcotic substances from Afghanistan to Iraq through Iran.
