Syria – “Bike for Peace” campaign kicks off in Qamishli

Shar Development and civil society, in coordination with Sanad for Peace building, launched a campaign titled “Bike for Peace” aimed at more traffic safety, less pollution and better physical health in the city of Qamishli in north-eastern Hasakah Governorate, it is the first bicycle marathon in Qamishli, which is part of the International Day of bicycles and was scheduled to be held in the 3rd of June, but was postponed due to its synchronization with the month of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr, the campaign aims to bring together the components of society and preserve the environment and reduce air pollution due to the car crisis, and deliver a message that these bikes are for peace and traffic safety and help people materially by taking them as a means of transportation.
