Iraq -Fears dominate the markets of Kurdistan from US sanctions on Iran

Concerns over the tensions in the region between the United States and Iran dominate the Kurdistan region markets in general and the markets of the city of Sulaymaniyah in particular. The tensions may lead to the application of US sanctions against Iran which eventually would harm the economy of the Kurdistan region. According to the President of Kurdistan Union of Importers and Exporters, Mustafa Abdullah, Kurdistan has reduced the commercial contracts concluded with Iran in order to avoid the occurrence of significant damage to the merchants of Kurdistan.
