Iraq: Mass demonstrations in Baghdad

A peaceful demonstration was launched this morning in the Iraqi capital of Baghdad to demand political reformation and the elimination of corruption, and saving the public money. Demonstrators raised banners calling for equality among all sects of Iraqi society, and they concentrate in front of the Green Zone gates, which is the headquarter of the government and the parliament.

 

 

 

 

Thousands of demonstrators gathered in Tahrir Square to carry the peaceful demonstration called by the cleric Moqtada al-Sadr in the Iraqi capital of Baghdad.

Demonstrators demanded justice reform and political reform.

Banners carried by the demonstrators voiced their demands in the eradication of corruption and the maintenance of public money, as well as equality between the components and the various sects of the Iraqi people.

And in conjunction with the Iraqi parliament session, and the security wide spread in Baghdad, protesters stood in front of the Green Zone gatea, which is the headquarter of the Parliament and the Iraqi government.

It is noteworthy that Iraq is suffering in the recent months from a severe political crisis as a result of corruption and sectarian quotas.
