Mosul’s archaeological sites and churches are undergoing a reconstruction process initiated by a grant from the Department of Heritage and Civilization in the University of Pennsylvania. The campaign was launched in collaboration with the Engineering Consulting Bureau of the University of Mosul and the Endowments of Christian, Ezidian, and Sabean Mandaean Religions Divan. The grant was initially dedicated for reconstructing two churches, namely the Cathedral of St. Ephrem, which is nearly 5000 square meters, and was entirely wrecked by ISIS armed militants in the left coast of Mosul, as well as the monastery of St. Colkis north of the city, which was built between the 10th – 11th century.
