Iraq – Citizens of Mosul hold armed factions and local government responsible for the ferry accident

Citizens of Mosul demanded the removal of the armed factions and shutting down of their economic offices in Mosul. Citizens held these armed factions and the local government responsible for the tragedies the city is going through, particularly the ferry sinking accident that they considered to be proof of the negligence, recklessness of these militias regarding citizens lives. In addition to it being proof that the economic offices are in control of the resources of Mosul that has been suffering for years. The citizens also expressed concern regarding the presence of armed groups with unknown agendas who are using titles related to the police, army and mobilization forces in order to intimidate investors and extort them in exchange for protecting them from being charged with corruption.
