Iraq is getting ready to prosecute 250 ISIS members of diverse Arab and foreign nationalities, who have been handed over following a deal with the Syrian Democratic Forces. The accused members will be put on trial according to Iraq’s effective provisions and laws, which provide for prosecuting ISIS members based on the place of the crime, according to Article 53 of the Criminal Assets Law. Amir Jabbar, who is a strategic expert, stated that there is a regional-international consensus on putting ISIS members for trial in Iraq, and having Iraq as the judicial platform for prosecuting them since Iraq has been the key conflict point with this organization. According to internal domestic laws and international laws, Iraq is given the right to prosecute them for the crimes they committed on the Iraqi territory.
