Sulaymaniyah – Kurdistan Region – Iraq 22/03/2019
Fouad Othman, who is an Iraqi blacksmith who has been practicing his profession for over 40 years, has chosen the hammer over the painting brush, however, he managed to use his hammer to create paintings out of solid steel, after developing his hobby of steel drawing, which requires huge effort and a sense of creativity, as well as long hours of hard work to illustrate paintings and create iron artworks. Fouad Othman is acclaimed as one of the people in Iraq and the region who excelled at shaping iron into pieces of art using his hammer, where he was able to create portraits of political and historical figures and writers. He also creates portraits of customers who wish to acquire geometrical portraits of themselves, in addition to many other paintings that he hanged all over his workshop, which looks very much like art galleries.
The director of the Seven Colors Center, Bakhtiar Said, stated that he is ready to hold a special art gallery for Fouad Othman, adding that this unique work of art is worth showing to the world.
