Iraq – Launching the Kurdish Heritage Festival in Erbil

Erbil – Kurdistan Region – Iraq 14/03/2019

Erbil festival was launched under the title “Freedom and Nowruz” at the historical Erbil citadel in the city center of Erbil, which included the heritage of governorates Erbil, Duhok, Sulaymaniyah and Kirkuk. This festival was launched concurrently with the anniversary of 11/03/1991 uprising against The Ba’ath Party. The festival is aimed to introduce Kurdish folklore to the outside world. The event included an exhibition of Kurdish handicrafts inside the Culture Center at the Erbil Citadel. The number of participants reached 40 with 600 handicrafts. The festival lasts for 10 days.
