Iraq – The economic file leads Rouhani’s visit to Baghdad

During his visit to the capital Baghdad, Iranian president Hassan Rouhani, met with the Iraqi Prime Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi to discuss several files, most important of which is the economic file, where they reached 22 agreements in the fields of trade and industry. The two sides stressed the need for joint security cooperation between the two countries, while the Iranian delegation also discussed the terms for exchanging industrial and agricultural products, and connecting the railways, as well as executing the deals they already made concerning the environment. Engineer Mohammed al-Rubaie, member of the Baghdad Provincial Council, stated that this visit holds a major economic value, especially in terms of addressing the old international convention (Algeria’s Agreement), as well as Iraq and Iran’s positions on the subject of joint borders and wells.
