Iraq – President Saleh receives Palestinian President at the Peace Palace in Baghdad

Iraqi President Barham Salih received the Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas on Monday at the Peace Palace in Baghdad to address issues of mutual concern to the two countries, where the Iraqi President stressed his country’s commitment to support the Palestinian cause and bring peace to the region. Abbas also met with Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi yesterday at the Government Palace, where they also discussed a number of issues of mutual interest. Abbas’s visit to Iraq comes as part of comprehensive efforts to enhance and strengthen bilateral ties, and find ways to boost relations in different aspects, in a way that serves the two countries’ mutual interests.
