The Abductees’ Mothers Association staged a protest in front of the governorate building in Taiz, where dozens of abductees’ mothers and wives took part to demand the release of their abductees. In a statement, the Association stated that 580 abductees are being held in the Houthis prisons and they have lost their jobs and educational degrees, not to mention the torture they are being exposed to in the Houthi prisons, where they have been denied of their most basic necessities of life for three years. They also mentioned that there are around 82 forcibly hidden abductees whose families know nothing about. During the statement, they also called on the United Nations and human rights organizations to press for the release of all those abducted and forcibly hidden people to bring them back to their families. They also stressed that the Houthis are still messing with people’s lives in their prisons and they are practicing acts of violence against them, even though they signed the UN-sponsored Sweden agreement.
