Many ISIS captives who have recently been arrested in eastern Deirdre Ez Zor by the Syrian Democratic Forces, tell their stories with ISIS, which they worked for despite being unconvinced of the group’s beliefs and ideals. The Irish ISIS captive Alexander Josmarovish said to Arab24 that he did not involved in the military aspect during his time with ISIS. In the first few months of being there, he attempted to return home but was stopped by ISIS and his passport was taken away. After that, he worked for them as a driver for taking injured ISIS members to the hospital. Being sick with asthma was a contributing factor to him not being involved in any military operations.
