Phoenicia Hotel – Beirut – Lebanon 18/01/2019
The 4th Arab and Social Development Summit (AESD) kicked off today at Phoenicia Hotel, in the Lebanese capital Beirut, with an opening session attended by Foreign Ministers and those concerned with the Economic and Social Council, where the attendees were scheduled to discuss the issues raised at the Arab Economic – Social Council, which were approved at last month’s meeting. Divisions overshadowed Lebanon’s Arab summit as only few leaders showed up amid declining participation of Arab countries’ representatives.
