Iraq – Picking up corpses resumes in Mosul

The civil defense teams began a new search for corpses in the rubble of the old city on the right side of Mosul. The campaign of picking up corpses comes in conjunction with the campaign of the municipality of Mosul to remove the rubble and remnants of war witnessed in the city last year. Several corpses were found in the rubble of houses in the city areas to add to the hundreds of other corpses that were found a year ago in the areas of the old city and classified anonymous corpses of ISIS. Cadres of forensic medicine got involved and took the necessary measures to hand over corpses to municipality to bury them in specific locations. Civil Defense Directorate have announced that it retrieved 1,900 corpses since the liberation of Mosul.
