Iraq – “Al-Sukkar” temporary bridge in Mosul collapses because of floods

Floods resulted from heavy rain on Nineveh had carried away “Al-Sukkar” bridge that was built temporarily on the left side of Mosul after liberation to replace the main bridge that was damaged during war until it is reconstructed again. The tough weather conditions had also caused huge damages to refugees’ tents in camps to the south of Mosul, local authorities in Mosul rushed to form an operations room to handle the effects of floods, enhance first aid efforts and set up plans to cope with future possible rain.
