The Syrian security forces in Alqamishli of Northeast Syria are taking tight security measures fearing from terrorist attacks from ISIS during Newroz celebration (21 March) which is the most important celebration for the Kurds.
The forces raised the level of emergency in the city starting today and over the next few days, in anticipation of the recurrence of terrorist acts carried out by ISIS organization last year on the same day of Newroz celebration, which killed more than 55 civilians.
Newroz celebration is considered the most important holiday for the Kurds in northeast Syria, being a historical epic day telling the triumph of Kawa Alhaddad on a tyrant who took the wives from their families.
