Sunni conflict over the Defense Ministry in the government of Abdul Mahdi tops the Iraqi political scene, where three personalities are competing over the position and the Major General “Hisham Darraji” supported by the national Axis alliance is the first candidate, the second candidate is the pilot, Faisal Jarba, supported by the national alliance led by Iyad Allawi, while the commander of Nineveh operations in the Iraqi army, Najm Al-Jubouri, is the third candidate for the important ministry which is the major role player in light of the security and military challenges facing the country.
